Hawaii Prince Hotels contribute significantly to golf in Paradise on Oahu, Maui and the Big Island. Their eight-night travel package aptly named "99 Holes of Golf" allows easy access to Hawaii’s most enjoyable golf experiences. This generous cross-section of island-style golf takes in two nights at Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki and golf at the Hawaii Prince Golf Club; three nights at the Maui Prince Hotel and golf at Makena Golf Club; and three nights at either the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel or the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel with golf at Mauna Kea and Hapuna Beach Prince Golf Clubs. Specially priced packages begin at $2,410 + tax for a single golfer. 27 holes: Hawaii Prince Hotel and Hawaii Prince Golf Club “The Longest Mile is a brutal stretch,” states Hawaii Prince head pro Tim Herek. “If you are even par or better through those holes, you can really play.” The slogan has helped boost the image of golf on Oahu. “Most golfers head for the resort courses on Maui, Kauai, Lanai and the Big Island,” said Paul Yokota, general manager of the Hawaii Prince Hotel and Golf Club. “But, there are a number of fabulous layouts on Oahu, and Hawaii Prince is the only hotel in Waikiki with its own golf course.” Where the trade winds once figured prominently in the challenge of this course, in the 12 years since the Hawaii Prince opened, the trees have matured considerably and now actually block much of the wind. “The course once resembled a links-style design, but has grown into a more tropical landscape,” says Herek. “It is now more in keeping with the style of golf people come to Hawaii to enjoy.” Back at the Hawaii Prince Hotel, poolside lounging affords views of the renowned Ala Wai Yacht Harbor and popular Ala Moana Park. For a bit of pampering, the hotel offers a full-service day spa, beauty salon and fitness center. Guests can visit the hotels high-end shops and two gourmet restaurants, and convene in the hotel lobby for afternoon High Tea. |
